 OMR was the Political Action Committee (PAC) that sponsored the Oregon Medical Marijuana Act in 1998.

 The ballot title of the OMMA is: Allows medical use of marijuana within limits; Establishes permit system.

 The Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) that allow medical use of marijuana in Oregon are ORS 475.300-346.

Additional links include a brief description or full text of the original OMMA. An April 1998 opinion piece from The Oregonian explains the philosophy behind the OMMA. In November 1998, Oregon voters passed the OMMA. In April 1999, the Oregon Medical Association adopted physician guidelines. In May 1999, the OMMP issued OAR or Oregon Administrative Rules and an application packet. After Oregon citizens petitioned for new conditions, an Oregon Health Division Advisory Panel for Adding New Conditions met. In June 2000, Agitation from Alzheimer’s Disease was added to the OMMA as a new qualifying condition. In October 2002, a Federal Court of Appeals decision upheld the First Amendment rights of physicians to recommend medical use of marijuana. On January 1, 2006, SB 1085 amendments became law.
